Matthew 24
At sundown, as Jesus left the Temple of Jerusalem, he told his Disciples, "All these buildings will be torn down, stone by stone, as the End of the World nears." Shivering as the air cooled, the Disciples asked, "But Sir, what signs should we look for, how will we know when the End of the World is near?" Jesus replied, "Many will try to deceive you, many will come in my name claiming to be the Christ, and many will be deceived. Wars will arise, there will be famines and earthquakes, but the End will still be to come." "Then you will be handed over to be tortured and executed, and you will be hated by all because of me. Many will turn away from the faith, and many false prophets will appear, but he who stands firm until the End will be saved." "No one knows exactly when the End will come, not even the angels in Heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come."
